Words Can Speak Just As Loud As Actions
Thank you to our Cake Founding Members for all your great
feedback! As a quick introduction, I’m Maren, and I head up the Product team here
at Cake. In response to your suggestions on how we can improve Cake, we’ve been working on a series of new features and
products, and I’ll be sharing our progress with you.
Tonight, we released a
few new features:
Journals
journal posts within your Cake Profile and comment on other members’ posts
within the Cake community. You can discuss your investment activity with your
network, share ideas, ask for input and explain why you are making certain
decisions. Now, when you look at your contacts’ profiles, you will see their
performance charts, performance summaries, current positions and trade activity together with their journal posts and comments from the community. Additionally, our position pages will now include all relevant Journal posts and finally, as you discover interesting journal posts, you can seamlessly share them within the Cake network, to external email addresses as well as to social bookmarking sites, such as Facebook, Digg, and Delicious. As a result, you have
an equal balance of "actions" and "words" in your Cake
network.
Cake Screen Name Rules
feedback from our Members that spaces in Screen Names and the resulting direct URL’s to their profile pages made it
difficult for them to share the URL with others. Therefore, we’ve updated our Cake Screen Name rules and will no longer accept spaces in Screen Names. If you have a space in your Screen Name, you will
see it automatically converted to an underscore. Of course, you can change your Cake Screen Name at any time via your Account Settings. Going forward, the following rules will
apply to Cake Screen Names:
- Your Cake Screen Name can only consist of a-z, 0-9,
underscores, and a period (.). - Your Cake Screen Name must have between 2 and 16 letters or
numbers. - Your Cake Screen Name cannot contain spaces.
Finally, we made two ‘behind-the-scenes" changes. We
updated our messaging system; the one change you will notice is that
messages from Cake are now in HTML. Additionally, we updated the rank algorithm to
use a slightly different and improved configuration, so some of you might
notice that your rank has changed.
